Let the building begin. It looks like Colwood Council is looking to change the height restrictions in its city core. This looks to break up the council log- jam blocking some high-rise development proposals.

I have seen numerous adjustments lately in the Greater Victoria area when it comes to building height limits do to the demand for housing. Is this good or bad? Only you will be able to decide for yourself, but I feel building-up preserves the green space in the area as large subdivisions impact a much large piece of land. By consolidating people in multipurpose buildings, in the city core, there will be less traffic and congestion on the roads. With all the buzz about Global Warming this may be a better solution than building out and farther away from

Victoria. With the Capital Regional District slow to improve the transit system this may be the best way to limit the traffic on our city roads.

Victoria and the surrounding areas are going through a change from low-rise and single family dwellings to the many new high-rises from: The Hudson, The Falls to the new Colwood development for example. Is this something you agree with? Yes? No? Let us know what you think.

Cheers
